Written for SATB (with div), the piece is set across three key sections. The first, hushed and magical, sets the scene for the moment of the arrival of the Baby Jesus, capturing the emotions, reflections and atmosphere of being in the presence of a new born.

The mood then shifts to creating a sense of expectation with momentum building through textural and rhythmic variation as the melody is passed around different voices, before building to a joy-filled, euphoric finale that encapsulates the excitement, wonder and hope of Christmas.
